I don't see any recent posts from the author.. The last update to ReGen was 3 years ago.. The emulator has a lot of potential and I saw that the author planned to include lots of debugging and analysis tools. I hope he finishes this or at least makes it open source.

He's been working on other projects, like Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 emulators.
We need a status update man!

in other words, the Regen project is not dead. it's simply placed on hold for a while until he's no longer busy with other stuff.

I have good idea, what about cycle accurate emulation? I think many people with powerful systems, want to see Regen with "pure code" without any hacks and optimizations (like a BSNES x64 builds)
You can count on me all romset tests, and doesn't matter how much resources will need for extreme accuracy.
I have new Core i7 3770K running at 4300Mhz.

Not possible at the moment. Needs VDP die shots, needs better docs (SEGA massively screwed up here)......
In 3-4 years we will have a GOOD mega drive emulator... all current emulators are shit >D
